How Reimbursed:

• often collects the previously agreed upon fee from the client, at the end of the inspection
• often less than 7% of the total real estate agency's/agent's fees
• e.g. total real estate agency/agent fees are often in the range of $4000 to $10 000. In comparison, the professional home inspector's fee is frequently in the $300 to $400 range.

Specifically in the client's best interest and for their protection, the inspection fee is not dependant on whether or not the home is purchased. Therefore the professional home inspector can be completely objective in his/her findings. In addition, to prevent a potential conflict of interest, the professional home inspector is not permitted to perform any kind of additional non-inspection work (i.e. building, repair, installation, etc.) for the client.
