Certified Home Inspector: A what?
It seems that there are still some individuals who claim to be a Certified Home Inspector.
In Canada, home inspectors with the required professional qualifications are NOT Certified, as claiming to be Certified means little
or nothing.
Anyone can 'certify' anyone for anything. Right now, you could be a 'certified' web page reader! And what would that mean...?
Not very much, right?
Often those individuals who have not or cannot meet the Standards of Canada's only professional home inspection
association (CAHPI), will instead claim to be Certified, waving this meaningless title over the unsuspecting public, implying that
it significes something of importance.
In many cases, the title is either fabricated or 'granted' by the company from which the home
inspection course was purchased.
